37.5: THE FILMS

"The Greatest Light Sider" (1995)

Directed by Ryan Graham
Starring: Ryan Graham, April Shreve

A cross between "Star Wars" and "The Greatest American Hero", this three part series follows the trials and tribulations of a geek-turned-superhero. When we first meet our Yoda-loving-greasy-haired-coke-bottle-glasses-wearing hero, he is getting beat up by jocks. Soon after, he is magically transported to an underground lair, where he finds a jacket, a glove, a lightsaber, and scrolls that describe how to use his newfound powers. Unfortunately, he accidently sets fire to the scrolls and has to learn how to use his powers by trial and error, thus causing a series of hilarious mishaps. Eventually, he turns into a buff stud, fighting crime and injustice, and constantly trying to seduce women.
